Evolution Guide

Level-ups, stones, the Linking Cord and friendship

🧬 Why Evolve?

Evolution is the single biggest power spike in PokeWorld. An evolved Pokémon gets an immediate jump in stats — more HP, more attack, more everything — and it keeps every bit of training you've put into it.

There are four ways a Pokémon can evolve here, and this guide covers all of them:

Pokémon #4
Charmander
Pokémon #5
Charmeleon · Lv 16
Pokémon #6
Charizard · Lv 36

📈 Method 1 — Level-Up Evolution

The classic way

Most Pokémon evolve automatically the moment they reach their level threshold — no items, no menus, no fuss. Battle, earn XP, and the evolution happens on its own.

Example — the Charmander line: Charmander → Charmeleon at level 16 → Charizard at level 36. Every starter line works the same way with its own thresholds.

Leveling faster

If a Pokémon is one or two levels from evolving, that's the perfect time for a Rare Candy — instant evolution, instant stat jump.

💎 Method 2 — Evolution Stones

Some Pokémon never evolve by level — they wait for a stone. Every stone costs 5,000 coins in the shop. Buy it, open your bag, use it on the right Pokémon, and the evolution happens instantly.

StoneEvolves
fire-stone Fire StoneVulpix → Ninetales · Growlithe → Arcanine · Eevee → Flareon
water-stone Water StonePoliwhirl → Poliwrath · Shellder → Cloyster · Eevee → Vaporeon
thunder-stone Thunder StonePikachu → Raichu · Eevee → Jolteon · Magneton → Magnezone
moon-stone Moon StoneNidorino → Nidoking · Clefairy → Clefable · Jigglypuff → Wigglytuff
leaf-stone Leaf StoneGloom → Vileplume · Weepinbell → Victreebel · Exeggcute → Exeggutor
sun-stone Sun StoneGloom → Bellossom · Sunkern → Sunflora
dusk-stone Dusk StoneMisdreavus → Mismagius · Murkrow → Honchkrow
dawn-stone Dawn StoneMale Kirlia → Gallade · Female Snorunt → Froslass
shiny-stone Shiny StoneTogetic → Togekiss · Roselia → Roserade · Minccino → Cinccino
ice-stone Ice StoneAlolan Vulpix → Alolan Ninetales · Galarian Darumaka → Galarian Darmanitan
Gloom is special: a Leaf Stone makes Vileplume, a Sun Stone makes Bellossom — same Pokémon, two different futures. Pick deliberately!

🔗 Method 3 — The Linking Cord

In the classic games, some Pokémon only evolve when traded. PokeWorld skips the hassle: the linking-cord Linking Cord (6,000 coins in the shop) triggers trade evolutions without trading anyone anything. Use it from your bag like a stone.

These four are some of the strongest Pokémon a beginner can realistically get. 6,000 coins for a Gengar or Alakazam is one of the best deals in the entire game.

💖 Method 4 — Friendship

A handful of species evolve not from levels or items, but from high friendship (also called bond). Keep a Pokémon in your team, battle with it, care for it, and don't let it faint constantly — its bond with you grows over time.

Classic friendship evolutions include baby Pokémon like Pichu → Pikachu, Togepi → Togetic and Riolu → Lucario, plus Eevee's bond evolutions Espeon and Umbreon.

Friendship evolutions take patience — but they're often the cutest payoffs in the game.

🦊 The Eevee Corner

No evolution guide is complete without Eevee — one Pokémon, eight possible evolutions. Catch several Eevee (or hatch them — see Eggs & Hatchery) and build the whole family:

Pokémon #196
Espeon
Pokémon #197
Umbreon

Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon come from the water-stone Water, thunder-stone Thunder and fire-stone Fire Stones. Espeon and Umbreon come from friendship. Collecting all of them is a serious flex for your Collector Score.

⚡ Evolve Freely — No Downsides Here

In the classic handheld games, evolved Pokémon learned moves more slowly, so players sometimes delayed evolution. In PokeWorld there's no such penalty — when you evolve, stats jump immediately and you lose nothing. If you can evolve, evolve!

Quick recap of your evolution toolkit:

  1. Level-up — free, automatic, just play.
  2. Stones5,000 coins each, instant.
  3. Linking Cord6,000 coins, unlocks Gengar-class power.
  4. Friendship — patience and care.

Earn the coins for all of it with the tips in the Coins & Gems guide — and if you'd rather hatch your next evolution project than catch it, the next guide is for you.
