Eevee Evolution Guide — All 8 Eeveelutions

Eevee is the most versatile Pokemon in existence. It has eight unique evolutions — more than any other species — each with a distinct type. Building a full Eeveelution team is a rite of passage for Pokemon trainers, and each form has a dedicated evolution trigger.

Stone-Based Evolutions

Three Eeveelutions use elemental stones. Use a Water Stone for Vaporeon (bulky Water type with massive HP), a Thunder Stone for Jolteon (blazing fast Electric attacker), or a Fire Stone for Flareon (physical Fire powerhouse). These are the original three from Generation 1 and the easiest to obtain.

Friendship-Based Evolutions

Eevee evolves based on time of day when friendship is maxed. Level up with high friendship during the day for Espeon (Psychic), or at night for Umbreon (Dark). Friendship grows from walking, battling together, and using vitamins. Both forms are iconic and extremely popular in competitive play for their tanky builds.

Location-Based Evolutions

Two Eeveelutions require evolving near specific terrain. Leafeon evolves when leveling up near a Moss Rock (Grass type), and Glaceon evolves near an Ice Rock (Ice type). In later games, Leaf Stone and Ice Stone shortcuts were added to make these easier.

The Fairy Eeveelution

Sylveon is the newest addition — a Fairy type that evolves when Eevee learns a Fairy-type move and levels up with high Affection. It is arguably the strongest defensively, with access to Hyper Voice and Pixilate for a boosted Normal-to-Fairy STAB attack.

Which Eeveelution Is Best?

Competitively, Sylveon and Umbreon top tier lists for support roles, while Vaporeon and Jolteon lead offensive builds. Collect all eight — in Pokeworld they each count as separate Pokedex entries.
